ACH Basics for the ODFI
In the ACH network the ODFI holds the majority of the warranties and liabilities and are at the point where fraudulent transactions can be stopped from entering the network. During this video these warranties and liabilities will be reviewed as well as the flow of ACH transactions. We will have a quick review of the roles and responsibilities of all of the participants in the network; however, we will discuss a number of the ODFI's responsibilities in greater detail.This video will last approximately 47 minutes and does not qualify for AAP credits.
ODFI Return Processing
It is imperative that your staff be properly trained in the area of return processing as many institutions have experience risk exposure due to the improper handling of exception items. This video will review the types of returns ODFIs typically receive and provide an understanding of how to monitor these items as they might be indicators of risk for you and your customer. This video will last approximately 30 minutes and does not qualify for AAP credits.
ACH Exception ProcessingRDFIs need to ensure that they handle ACH exception items properly as these are the most common source of ACH loss for financial institutions. During this video we will be discussing exception processing and notification of change issues such as the proper use of the reason codes and the proper return time frames. Also discussed will be how Federal Regulation E and the ACH rules work together when returning unauthorized or improper ACH transactions. This video will last approximately 40 minutes and does not qualify for AAP credits.
Risk Management - Best Practices
This video will review the various categories of risk that will impact the ODFI. Identifying and understanding these risks will help you be able to take a pro-active approach to risk mitigation and to help formulate sound business practices. Also discussed will be why ACH risk management is critical for your organization's overall risk exposure and risks that impact the relationship with your customer throughout the life cycle of your relationship and much more. This video will last approximately 40 minutes and does not qualify for AAP credits.
